What's GovJam?

From the GovJam website: "The Global GovJam is an event which will apply the concept and energy of the Global Service Jam and Global Sustainability Jam into the world of government and the public sector. Working around a common Theme, small Teams meet at multiple locations, working for 48 hours on building innovative approaches and solutions towards challenges faced by the public sector. At the end of the two days, they upload their results and publish them for the world."

Who joined us at GovJam Toronto 2013?

People from the public sector (municipal, provincial, and federal) + people from the public who are passionate about designing better services. Participants were equipped with an open mind, lots of creativity, and 48 hours to build a prototype of an innovative public service.

Registration was done through Eventbrite.

Why GovJam?

GovJam gives public sector innovators the opportunity to try out and learn one of those methods (service design/design thinking) and bring that thinking and inspiration back to their jobs. It also helps make those increasingly important connections between government and the people that their services directly impact - the people of Ontario.
